It started with the purchase of 11 acres of rural land in Yotala, 25 mins from the Unesco World Heritage Site of the city of Sucre, Bolivia. 3 years later we opened as a small boutique hotel to recoup our investment, gaining top ratings locally and nationally. 4 years later we closed and reclaimed Sky Hacienda as our home. ABOUT SKY HACIENDA

June Donaldson and Edward Garry live at an altitude of 2,600 metres in Mosoj Llajta, Yotala, 20 minutes from the colonial city of Sucre in Bolivia, South America. Using earth and stones from the land, we have sculpted beautiful buildings which compliment the high desert landscape and incorporate creative and innovative elements of design.

We have designed a high quality hotel in Sucre for guests who want to get off the treadmill of travelling from city to city in South America. CARNAVAL YOTALA

Oruro is the best place to be in Bolivia for Carnaval, but it is an exhausting and expensive experience. By contrast Yotala, our nearest town, is a more intimate setting for the festivities.
